Is it time to replace your new boiler? TML Service Experts is here with a couple indicators to look for when choosing whether it’s time to invest in a new boiler.

Age

If your condensing boiler receives standard maintenance, you can expect it to last about 15 years or more. Cast iron boilers can last even longer, even up to 50 years with proper maintenance. If your condensing boiler is close to 15 years or your cast iron boiler is coming up on 50 years, it may be time to discuss an upgrade.

Bills

If your utility bills are going up or you’re having to maintain your boiler more repeatedly, it could be because it’s time to buy a new, more efficient boiler.

Discoloration

If you discover yellow flames on the gas burners and black soot on oil burners it could be a sign that the fuel is not burning properly and could be generating carbon monoxide. If you notice these issues or have any concerns surrounding carbon monoxide in your home, you should call TML Service Experts or your gas company as soon as possible.

Comfort

If some of the sections in your home are too warm or too cool and you can’t seem to control them correctly or get them comfortable, it could be that your boiler is no longer effective and you might need to look into upgrade choices.
