What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

TML Service Experts is here with some of the most common air conditioning problems in Boise.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your A/C equipment running but there isn’t cool air being produced, you might need to have your refrigerant levels evaluated. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air being produced by your air conditioning system is actually cool. Call TML Service Experts and we’ll come out and examine your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not giving off cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

The reason your condenser fan may not be rotating could be that it just burned out and you have to replace it. Humidity could cause more condensation so a second problem to watch for is that the water is not draining right or that the drain is blocked. If you can check these matters, you may be able to pinpoint the culprit; if not, give TML Service Experts a call and we can look into what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and go over your options to get your system up and running again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try decreasing the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds silly but sometimes we neglect the obvious. If that doesn’t get your system cooling, take a look at the air filter. If the air filter is obstructed, it could cause huge cooling troubles. Another problem that could cause your lack of cooling is that your HVAC system is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a common issue when homes are constructed. TML Service Experts will come out and conduct an analysis to determine if the size of your unit is causing your problems.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your system is short cycling, or turning on or off continuously, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and requires cleaning. Once the equipment is cleaned and all obstructions removed, you may be back in business. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a role so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to heat up quickly, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the equipment is having to work harder to keep your home cool.

No matter your trouble, whatever air conditioner trouble you run into, TML Service Experts is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get your home comfortable quickly.
